Find the problem before the requirements harden.
The useful research happens where the job happens: clinicians between visits, analysts on shift, operators in the middle of an incident. What people actually do is usually better evidence than what they say they need.
That evidence changes the product. Field research redirected a clinical co-pilot before it was built. Operator research turned a defense supply-chain tool from another status feed into a decision surface.
Definition establishes the bet.
02 · Product Building
Functional prototypes · Design systems · Production code
Build enough of the real thing to learn.
Static screens cannot tell you how an AI agent should behave, where automation should stop, or whether a workflow actually became simpler. Functional products can.
I carry those decisions into implementation: real components, real states, real data, and design systems connected directly to production. The prototype is not a presentation artifact. It is part of the research.
Building makes the bet testable.
03 · Product Validation

Decide what survives.
Before the money goes in, I write down what would make us stop: a number, a threshold, and a date to check it against. Then the idea meets real conditions rather than a curated demo, so the answer arrives while it is still cheap to act on.
What a team gets back is a decision they can act on: ship it, change it, or stop. Stopping is the unpopular one, and it is what makes the other two worth believing.
The work is the decision, not the launch.
